Leigh Film Society are a group of film and movie enthusiasts who want to provide and share a community cinema experience and inspire you with their film selections. Their project plans for the upcoming year will focus introducing young audiences in their community to the world of film, and the benefit that cinema therapy offers
They will be working on initiatives with ‘hard to reach’ sections of the community with an aim to reach out to young people who find the multiplex challenging - be that because of cost, accessibility or medical reasons - and provide a safe and welcoming environment for them.
In addition, they plan to support young people living with mental health conditions and learning difficulties, offering special screenings for local care organizations, providing work experience and employment opportunities for young adults with learning difficulties within their organizations.
