Synopsis:

Che! is an intentionally noncommittal version of the Cuban revolution which strains to balance the good with the bad. The film opens with Che Guevara’s dead body on display in Bolivia and various people who knew him coming forward to give their varied opinions. In flashback, the film recounts Che’s switch from doctor to politico in Castro’s campaign to wrest Cuba from the dictatorship of Batista. Later, he becomes disillusioned with Castro’s compromises and his willingness to cooperate with the Communists, and leaves to lead a revolt in Bolivia which costs him his life.
