Synopsis:

Mature, exciting presentation of the courage and dignity inherent in bullfighting. Manolo, Mexico's leading matador, becomes friends with Johnny, a young American admirer. The lovely Anita invites both to her father's ranch for Johnny's first chance in the bullring. Tragically, Manolo is killed in saving Johnny, who has foolishly exposed himself to danger in the ring. Anita and the entire country turn against Johnny, who must then demonstrate courage and sincerity to win them back. Many bullfighting sequences have been restored to recreate the director's version.
