We are thrilled to see Adolescence nominated for no fewer than 13 Emmy® Awards.
Created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, and directed by Philip Barantini, Adolescence premiered on Netflix on 13th March 2025 and quickly sparked a conversation across the UK and beyond. The Prime Minister called for the show to be made available in schools.
Soon after, Netflix partnered with Into Film to make Adolescence freely available to stream in secondary schools across the UK via Into Film+ on 31st March. Into Film also produced a guide for teachers to help them facilitate conversations with their students around the show’s themes.
The launch coincided with Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, hosting a roundtable with the show’s creators and charity leaders to discuss the issues raised by the programme.
We are proud to have played a key role in making this initiative possible. Into Film+ is a streaming platform powered by our technology, Filmbankconnect. It was our responsibility to ensure that the programme could be streamed securely by those UK secondary schools, and we worked closely with Into Film, solving the complexities of multiple access permissions to make this happen — all within just a few days. A testament to the security and versatility of Filmbankconnect.
Fiona Evans, CEO of Into Film said:
"We were so pleased to be able to work closely with our partner at Filmbankmedia to make this happen, at scale and at speed and in a way which was fully compliant and supportive of schools' needs. Into Film+ was the perfect platform for this and we are incredibly proud of our partnership".
Majella Griffin, CEO of Filmbankmedia said:
“We were thrilled to mobilise our services for our long-standing partner, Into Film. I am particularly proud of our Technology Team, who were able to fast-track a complex process with remarkable efficiency and speed. This also highlighted how versatile and secure our Filmbankconnect technology is. We are honoured to have played a part in such an important initiative, which has helped facilitate meaningful conversations in secondary schools across the country.”
