Synopsis:

This is a true story of Hunter Patch Adams who having been a patient at a mental institute, decides to study medicine. One of the oldest students on the course, Patch is also the most talented. His unorthodox methods of practicing medicine however wins him the affections of patients and hospital staff whilst creating enemies with his college principal and medical heads. However Patch is unswerving in his idealistic approach which uses laughter and happiness as part of the healing process and with the help of an ex-mental patient opens up the country's first free hospital to treat patients within a stress free environment.
