Synopsis:

Roy McAvoy is a talented former pro golfer who owns his own driving range – in a tiny Texas town, where he has few customers and is rapidly losing money. His life is spent just passing the time – drinking with his buddies, hitting balls, and occasionally golfing. But when newcomer to town Molly Griswold, a psychologist, asks him for lessons, he begins to wake up from his self-imposed trance. And when he discovers that she's the girlfriend of David Simms, his former golfing rival, he is further spurred into action. Roy returns to the PGA golf tour and competes in the U.S. Open. But is he doing it for Molly... or for himself?
