SWEET LIBERTY
College Professor Michael Burgess, an historian, has written an earthy book about the American Revolution that becomes a best seller and consequently the screen rights are snapped up. The director of the film is determined to make a youth-oriented picture at the expense of historical accuracy. He has a theory that in order to appeal to today’s movie audience it’s essential to do three things: defy authority, destroy property and take people’s clothes off. Michael watches in horror as his historical tome becomes adulterated by Hollywood into a spurious, lusty romp.
