Woody Allen celebrates his 80th birthday

The American actor, writer, director, comedian and playwright Woody Allen celebrates his 80th birthday in December. Over his 50 year career, Allen has won four Academy Awards and collected 24 nominations.

To celebrate this occasion, we've taken a look back at some of Woody Allen's memorable movies:

  • Annie Hall: Neurotic New York comedian Alvy Singer falls in love with the ditsy Annie Hall (Diane Keaton) and tells the story of the obstacles of modern romance.
  • Midnight in Paris: While on a trip to Paris with his fiancée's family, a nostalgic screenwriter (Owen Wilson) finds himself mysteriously going back to the 1920s every day at midnight.
  • Blue Jasmine: A New York socialite (Cate Blanchett), deeply troubled and in denial, arrives in San Francisco to impose upon her sister. She looks a million, but isn't bringing money, peace, or love.
  • Irrational Man: Allen's most recent title tells the story of a tormented philosophy professor (Joaquin Phoenix) who finds a will to live when he commits an existential act. Please check the Filmbankmedia website for availability.
